Thomas J. Fleischmann, O.D. Dr. Fleischmann graduated from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 1977. Dr. Tom established his practice in Sacramento in 1979 and has provided exceptional optometric care for over 30 years.
He is active in the community and while his boys were growing up he sponsored and coached numerous little league & soccer teams. He has been an active member of Kiwanis since 1979. He has active memberships in the American Optometic Association, the California Optometric Association and The Sacramento Valley Optometric Society.
Dr. Tom is licensed to practice the full scope of optometry including treatment of ocular conditions, providing therapeutic services and prescribing pharmaceuticals. He has expertise in fitting all types of contact lenses (gas permeable, bifocal, extended wear, etc). He also provides pre-op and post-op care for laser, lasik and cataract surgeries.
Heidi L. C. Schauffele, O.D. Dr. Schauffele completed her undergraduate studies at Pacific Union College in the Napa Valley in 1997. She married her college sweetheart and then persued a graduate degree in optometry at the UC Berkeley School of Optometry.
She has been a welcome addition to our office since 2003. She is a caring doctor, qualified to perform full scope optometric care. She especially enjoys fitting a variety of routine and specialty contact lens options. She feels strongly that children (beginning at age 6 months) deserve routine eyecare and provides a child-friendly environment to ease the introduction. Babies age 6 months to a year are screened free under the InfantSee program.
Dr. Schauffele is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association, the Sacramento Valley Optometric Society, and the Embarcadero Lions Club. She serves as Director on the Northern California Lions Sight Association board, and as treasurer of the Sacramento Valley Optometric Society.

Deana, Optometric Services Coordinator Deana is most often the first face you meet when visiting our practice. She manages the patient flow and ensures each person receives the individual care that we value.
Dave, Optician Dave, shown here with our digital retinal camera, has worked with us for four years. He has earned his ABOC and NCLC certifications, and enjoys running our in-house optical lab. Thanks to Dave, we can provide same-day glasses for many patients.
Katie, Optician Katie, shown with our GDx Nerve Fiber Analyzer, takes pride in helping patients care for their vision. This optic nerve scan aids in the early detection of vision threatening diseases like glaucoma. Katie has earned her ABOC certification, and specializes as a frame stylist. She combines experience and patience to find a great solution for each person's optical needs.
Whitney, Optician As part of her skills as an optical assistant and dispensing optician, Whitney provides caring and knowledgeable contact lens training sessions with patients. She is shown here with our Humphrey visual field analyzer, an instrument we use for detecting vision loss.
